I don't like it when she goes to the toilet on the puppy training pad on the kitchen floor and then she sleeps on it. Please help! I will also add the she is responding well to toilet training in the garden - she is very stubborn. Any advice?
I meant she is NOT responding well to toilet training
I meant she is NOT responding well to toilet training
I have tried taking away the training pad but this means she goes to the toilet anywhere in the kitchen as opposed to that one place.
Sometimes she will go to the toilet outside and then again when we take her inside. What's that about?
You don't need the puppy training pad. Just take her out to the garden. All the training pad does is teach the dog to pee in your kitchen, and it takes extra effort to convince them to go outside only. Also, if you don't change it often its probably not sanitary, especially if your puppy is sleeping on it.
If you remove the pad and your dog has no accidents, go ahead and let her sleep on the kitchen floor. It's not harmful.

Wherever she pleases i think. if whe thinks the kitchen floor is comfortable then let her sleep there.

Unless her bed is in a crate I d on't see how you can insist that she sleeps in (unless youa re staying up all night with her!). If you have a tiled floor, it may be that she prefers sleeping there because it is cooler. Some dogs never take to beds.

your confusing her with peeing outside or inside. if you want her to go outside then take away the puppy training pads in the kitchen. then, if there is no puppy potty pad on the floor she wont sleep in it and decide she does like her bed after all
add: here is a link to the ASPCA website that gives pretty good pointers on how to potty train puppies and dogs. hope it helps

they have a lot of good training tips for many different things so maybe look at more things under dog behavior.

She'll learn just keep trying.

You could try putting another training pad in the garden so the puppy sees the connection. It might be worth moving the pad off the floor at night so the puppy can't sleep on it. It just takes time with them.

Your dog is so confused she really hasn't got a clue what she's supposed to do!
There are pads for indoors, the garden when she's outdoors. There is no pad in the garden and no grass indoors. You take her outside she goes on the grass. You bring her indoors and suddenly she feels like going again so she goes indoors and is wrong. Poor girl. I think any dog would be confused by what you're doing.
Firstly, commit to spending a bit of time getting her sorted. Get rid of the pads. The place for a large dog to go potty is outdoors.
She needs to be gently schooled in what is expected of her. Take her into the garden every 20 mins plus after every meal and as soon as she wakes up. If she pees or poos tell her she is a good girl. Decide what word or command you wish to use for toiletting and use it when she is actually going. Eventually she will associate that command with going to the toilet and she will hopefully 'perform' for you. In the mean time if she pees or poos in the house gently but firmly say 'No', pick her up gently and take her into the garden. She'll get the message soon enough. Remember she is not being naughty by peeing in the house, she just needs to learn what you expect of her.
At night time the best thing is a crate. Pop her in there and go off to bed. Half way through the night, for the first few weeks get up, quietly take her out into the garden for a pee then pop her straight back to bed.
Once she is a little older and a little less confused she'll be able to go through the night.
Good luck

I don't think it's very hygienic for a pet to sleep in a kitchen to be honest.Try to keep her/any pet out of there as much as possible.
