What Are the Differences Between Golden Retrievers and Labs?

What are the main differences please and do they require the same exercise needs or does one need more than the other if so which one? And which one needs more training? Thank you so much.

In General - individual dogs vary:

1. Same exercise.
2. Labs - less training, more willing to please, more forgiving.
3. Goldens - a little brighter, can be clingy and solicitous.

as far as training and exercise they're about the same.

a lab has a more annoying bark sometimes
    the golden requires more grooming.
the lab smells more if gotten wet because of oils in it's coat
the golden is more likely to have skin allergies
both are likely to have hip problems

if you want more info try this website, it pretty much covers everything except for specific breeders, and the average price.

Very few differences, temperment and training is pretty evenly matched. As someone else said, Goldens do require more grooming, although both breeds shed, especially during the spring and fall. There are unique individuals in each breed which might tend to be more hyper or barky, but on average, I'd say they're pretty much the same.

Both are Retriever's. Both make great family pets. Both are sporing dogs. Labs can be a bit hyper as pups and maintain this hyper ness well into adulthood. Golden's will settle down sooner. Both require about the same exercises levels. Both are loyal to their families while also being friendly.

both can suffer from Hips and other problems if you get them from a poor breeder. Look for a breeder who does all health testing on either breed of dog.
OFA hips, Heart, Thyroid, and elbows.
Differences are thee coats. Labs have a shorter coat length than a Golden, They both shed! Grooming for either is a must! Both need obedience training. Both are intelligent.
You see you just need to decide which breed you want and then go find a very good breeder and then get your pup ok!

I have a Lab Retriever. I would think they both need the same amount of exercise. Dogs should be walked daily for exercise and mental stimulus. Goldens have much longer hair and require more grooming. I don't know much about Golden Retreivers but they are similar in a few ways. My Lab learns quickly and is very smart. I guess it depends how much time and effort you put into it. They are both good with kids and have good temperments.
